Happy Peeps Child Counselling and Therapist Hobart help support psychological conditions, trauma, or child early development delays across the lifespan to help them cope with daily functioning. Our supportive and caring practitioners counsel children from early intervention 0 to 7, pre-teen stage 8 -12, teenagers and adolescents 13 – 19 and young adults 19-25.
Children may be experiencing challenging behaviours and difficulties at home or at school with excessive worrying, feeling unhappy and sad, or anxious and we help them through these challenges. They may have some depression or even internalised anger and have meltdowns and refuse to go to school because of difficulties with bullying. Psychotherapists help children with building resilience and confidence to make friends by improving self-esteem and confidence. We help children in the school setting or at home with barriers in learning and development and improved memory, exam stress, procrastination, and organisational skills to increase efficiency and productivity. Effective time management with school, homework, after school jobs, socialising and hobbies create a quality of life and a nice balance. This creates a space for effective and improved communication through high-quality connections and social interaction.
Children are supported through the stages of grief and loss from the death of a loved one, family conflict, separation or divorce, phobias, tired and distressed children with sleep problems or insomnia, and trauma. Practitioners may also assist with technology use and addictions, substance use, child sexual abuse, and family domestic violence.
Our practice is inclusive for all children in particular lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/transsexual, intersex, and queer/questioning. (LGBTIQ) Our inclusive practice also includes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. (ATSI)
